Now I think we need a little something else.
We need some bass.
Tariq Oh, that's nice right there.
Oh, he got the low, low, low, low in a boom, boom, boom.
Oh, it's coming together pretty nice.
But I think we're missing one more piece to this perfect sandwich bass along the keys, baby.
Oh.
Oh, wow.
Wow.

Right now it's just clap.
Just a just clap.
Just clap, clap.

Someone teach you the sign for what's up?
You take your fingers like this and you glide them across your chest.
That means, What's up?
What's up?
That's the cool way to say hello in sign language.
Now, the next sign I'm going to show you is for good day.
First, let's start with Good.
Take your hand on your chin and bring it down into your palm like this.
That means good.
Excellent.
And for day, you're going to put your arm on top of your other arm and bring it down like day.
Try those together.
Good day.
More time.
Good day.
I think they got it.
I think they got it.
So we going to bring it up and repeat after me.
I will go.
Hey, hey, what's.

Are you.
All right?

Oh, man.
How you are feeling today?
Now, this next song we're going to do is called Black Women in History.
And it's a song that celebrates some of the amazing accomplishments of black women throughout history.
Some you might have heard of.
Have you ever heard of Rosa Parks?
But ever heard of Rosa Parks before?
Yes.
I see some of you out there know Rosa Parks.
She refused to give up her seat to a white person during a time of segregation in this country where she just couldn't sit there because of the color of her skin.
So we know that was very, very wrong.
Have you ever heard of Harriet Tubman?
You've heard of Harriet Tubman?
I see some of you out there have heard of Harriet Tubman.
She freed so many enslaved people in the Underground Railroad during a time when black people were treated wrongly as enslaved.
But we're going to talk about some other black women that you maybe have never heard of before.
So sex and basil, let's get into black women in history.
Let's go.
You can clap your hands.
You can clap your hands to a beat.
You can clap your hands to the beat up.
You can clap and just clap with it and just clap, Just clap with it and just clap, Just clap with it and just cloud.
Yeah, hands up.
I said, This is for the black women in history.
Oh, black woman in her story.
Black women in history.
History.
First, the reason this this is for the black women in history.
For black women.
Any story?
Black women in history.
History.
Check on black women in history.
Got us together now.
So it's not a mystery.
This song is dedicated to your legacy.
So with time, we let them know what a sister speak.
Last name Hamer.
First name.
Fannie Lou, Civil rights leader, helped bring this up.
People to vote during Jim Crow laws in the sixties become blacks vote in this country.
She paved the way for future politicians along with the first black congresswoman, Shirley Chisholm.
Kamala Harris made history as the first woman ever elected V.P.
So many suffragists fought for this like Nashville's own J. Frankie Pins.
Now register thousands to vote in Tennessee, and a school for black girls in the 1920s could not have done it without the pioneers.
Women fighting voter suppression for years, like Stacey Abrams.
But Lisa Davis, so many women are name in support of black women in history.
Both black women in the story, Black women in history, history, Herstory said.
This is what a black women in history owe black women a story Black women in history are we going to make it to the first check which led to the Queen, Rosa Parks, who didn't give up a bus seat for real talk?
That was so many women who did the same thing?
Claudette Colvin She was only 50 arrested because he demanded respect, refused to be told her life was worth less.
Ida B Wells had a similar tale many years before Rosa Parks at the jail, one of the founders of NWA See People and a Slave.
She was freed in 1863.
One year later, Rebecca Crumpler, first black woman with a medical degree.
Jane Henson Alfredo, where a person of African American veterinarians last for 2020.
Dr. Kizzy Percy Create 2019 has black women in black women in black women.
It is the reason for this is so great said This is what a black woman and black women in black women in here.
Sorry.
Oh.
Oh, yeah.
We can see your life.
You know we love your wives and the mothers.
Sisters and the daughters.
You sign like no other.
Thank you for breathing.
You know, we need just thank you for existing.
Your presence is a blessing, your impact and accomplishments.
We thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
We make some no noise.
Oh, man.
Excellent.
Excellent.
We are dancing.
We are learning.
We are having so much fun and making music together.
Now, this next song, I'm really excited about because it celebrates a very important day in our history called Juneteenth, when some of the last enslaved people heard that slavery was over in the United States.
So we celebrate June 19th, 1865.
Let's go ahead and get into it.
Yeah.
Hey, everybody, just clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap.
Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap.
You jump.
Do you know the story of Juneteenth?
Winnie Enslaved.
Right?
As if they were free to is in 1863.
The Emancipation Proclamation?
Yeah.
Do you know the story of Juneteenth?
Winnie Enslaved every few years in the 1863 Big Emancipation sang Freedom.
What does it mean to be free?
Are you born with it?
Is it God given?
It was never crossed to be free.
The Constitution said we were 3/5.
You went, How can it be?
Democracy built on stolen land.
Freedom is a right, not a privilege, a freedom from force, a strict skin color, birth, place, perspective.
Ways are different.
Let's take it back.
Got a lot of years quickly to paint this picture.
America in a Civil War.
No Marvel movie history.
President Lincoln had a plan in slavery only in the South.
Black folks, when they heard about it, signs reading that word of mouth picked up arms to join the union to fight for their own freedom.
Colored troops helped win the war.
A proclamation.
Yeah.
Do you know the story of Juneteenth when Enslaved found out that they are free?
We led to victory.
The Emancipation Proclamation?
Yeah.
Do you know the story of Juneteenth?
Enslaved by the celebration of a Every year in 1863, the Emancipation sang just this.
When have we seen it and known?
Who are the ones who have grown?
It took it from Nelson as someone would just talk about soldiers who were free, risking their lives for people like me.
But I can't stop them and never know to believe that we all can follow with the call for what justice bigger than than it was for Enslaved.
When you think about that proclamation, the emancipation is the one that we were to brave 200,000 soldiers organizing women and children to protest us in power.
To bring it goes our brother.
Come on down.
Do you know the story of Juneteenth?
He is.
They found out that they were free to year in 1863.
Do you and him Proclamation?
Yes.
billionOW the story of Joseph when he is they find out that they are free.
We let us have a victory.
Let's go.
Y'all ready?
What you think of freedom is not individual is collective.
Freedom is not individual is collective.
Freedom is not individual, is collective.
Must go.
Freedom is the individual.
When you think about Juneteenth, freedom, self, say respect, tip the scales of jail death and we will not fail.
You believe you dream, you move, you'll tell some parts of our culture the one that perhaps we can be.
So we stand, we rise.
We honor to run, we stand, we rise, We honor joy run.
I say we stand, We stand.
We rise.
We rise.
We honor joy, right.
We honor joy right now you know the.
Story of Juneteenth Enslaved found out that they were free.
We let ourselves to victory beat the red carpet.
The red puts a visa up for victory.
Put a visa for victory, victory, victory.
But defeats upon victory Breeze in the sky, put them upon the free is for victory.
Turn it around and that means peace.
So we got peace in victory.
We got peace and victory.
We got peace in victories like aha!
Hi and welcome to the Music Room.
We are all about making music here at Kid's Jam and you at home can make music with us too.
Let's get ready with a few deep breaths.
Take a long breath in, Let it out.
Do that again.
Take a long breath in.
Let it out.
All right, let's do a little stretch.
Maybe let your head just lower to one side and roll it really gently around to the other side.
Oh, good Breath in.
Let it out and roll it one more time around.
Good.
And head up straight.
Give a little wiggle, a little jiggle.
Excellent.
And hold still.
One more big breath in.
Let it out.
You know, we can make music with all kinds of different things.
Instruments are amazing, but we can make music with things we just have lying around at home.
So I wonder if you could go find something right where you are that you could make music With my friends here, you can go ahead and pick up your things that you have in front of.
You have some things that you might find around your house that we can use to make music.
And you'll notice that things have different sizes and shapes make different sounds.
Let's listen to the different sounds.
Okay.
We're going to go one at a time and make one sound with your instrument.
Ready?
Go.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Beautiful.
Oh, all right, let's do it one more time.
Listen to all the different sounds.
Ready?
Go.
So many cool sounds.
Did you find something at home that you can make music with?
I have two spoons.
I can click together like this.
Let's play some rhythm with our instruments ready.
So after me will go like this.
Let's hear it.
So let's try a different one.
Yeah, Very nice.
Let's do a fast one.
Are you trying it at home?
Ready, Beautiful.
One more time.
Awesome job.
Beautiful way to make music at home.
Instruments are amazing, but we can make music with lots of different things, too.
All right, my friends.
Beautiful job.
Let's go back to the Kids Jam studio for more songs.
We'll see you next time in the Music Room by.
I am so excited.
All of these songs that I talk about are things I'm excited today, excited to share with you.
Songs about Heritage, family, history, culture and togetherness.
So we have covered so many emotions here.
We've learned about Juneteenth.
We've grown.
Now we're going to talk about this whole thing about beauty.
When I was younger, I used to think that my type of hair wasn't that beautiful because I didn't see many people with hair like mine in television and in movies.
I used to think I had bad hair and I thought my friends who had long straight hair that you could brush it and comb through, and when it got wet, it didn't curl and coiled up like mine.
I thought they had good hair.
But then I had a friend of mine.
She said, You think your hair is bad, your hair is just different.
And I had to think about that.
And that's it.
That's true.
I had to look at myself in the mirror and say, I am beautiful.
You can you say that to yourself?
Pointed yourself and say, I am beautiful.
No, you're saying that you're beautiful.
You have to act and say it like you mean it.
Say I am beautiful and that's it.
Now, if you're around anyone, I want you to point at somebody else that you see point at them and say you are beautiful.
You're talking about someone else.
I need you to say it like you mean and say you are beautiful.
Yes, that's it.
This song is called My Crown and it celebrates the type of hair styles that I grew up with and around.
But I also want us to celebrate any type of hair that you have.
I have friends who have no hair on their head, friends who like to add hair to their hair, friends who like to wear wigs, friends who like to dress it like mine.
So we're going to celebrate all different types.
And this is called my crown.
Let's go.
Oh, now I want you to do one thing during this song.
I want you to shake your head just like this.
Just shake your head.
Just shake your head It go like this I wear my crown so proud I am I crown so proud So many different styles, so many different stuff Shake your head go I wear my crown So I wear my crown so proud So many different styles.
We're going to take it up.
Let's take it up.
Shake your head.
Shake your life, Shake it Brushing I love k Hush it now I love it My crown Don't touch it Naked Crossing I lock.
Myself I love it My ground naked dress.
Has it I love my dancing, naked dressing I love my sound I love it My crown Don't touch it I wear my crown so proud when I like that.
That's real smooth, right?
Then I wear my crown so proud.
Yeah.
So many different styles.
Whatever your style is, show it off.
So many different styles.
I'm gonna name some of the styles I grew up with.
What?
Two great ways.
Great hats.
The way they spread.
So it's natural.
They like it.
It's messy.
Next day, my switch, it curls, save it, say it.
Make it your favorite.
Do you want to love it every way?
Yes.
Rocket.
Rocky.
Rocky.
Rocky.
Rocky.
Rock it.
I am.
I am so proud.
I wear my crown.
So proud.
Shake your head.
Just sing.
Singing smooth.
So many different styles I see all out there.
Yeah, so many different styles.
Last time I sing it, I think my singing.
Rehearsing.
My love in my career.
Singing Russian.
How's it?
I love it.
My granddaughter, she.
Sang in Russian.
I like her Mustang.
I love it.
My granddaughter singing Russian out now Kate Hudson myself, I love it.
My crayon.
Don't touch me.
That was excellent.
That was so wonderful.
Appreciating all our different styles, How we look, who we are, appreciating each other for our differences.
That's what life is all about.
So now that I've got you movin, I've got you grooving and I've got to dance.
And I'm going to teach you a new dance.
And it's for my song called Pick It Up.
Now this is a song I made because I don't know about you, but I live on earth.
Do you live anywhere else?
Are you watching this from another planet right now?
If you are.
Hello.
But I live on Earth my whole life, so I like to say that every day is Earth Day and I like to think of ways we can take better care of the Earth because the Earth gives us life.
It gives us air, water, food, shelter.
What are ways we can take care of this planet that takes care of us?
So I made a song called Pick It Up and I'm going to teach you the dance for it.
And it's four simple dance moves.
So Shaq, go ahead.
Give him the beat for the song, and I'm going to teach it to you.
Let's go.
All right.
So the first move is you're going to take your hand like this.
You got your hand.
Okay, good.
So first first, you going to pick it up?
Okay.
You got that?
The move number two, and then you going to put it back.
All right, number three, you got that and then you're going to switch it up.
Uh huh.
Last move.
Last move.
And then you're going to swap it out.
I we're going to speed it up a little bit.
Ben, You ready?
First you got to pick it up.
Put it back, switch it up, swap it out, pick it up, put it back, Switch it up, Swap it out.
Let's speed it up.
Pick it up at the back.
That's a bit out.
You catch that.
Some of you caught it one more time.
Pick it out, put the back of it out.
Now we're going to do it really fast with no stopping.
Let's go pick it out, put it back into that and pick it up at the back.
Pick it up.
And eventually that's what I pick it up and eventually that's it.
But now pick it up at the back to the dustbin.
Now pick it up with the back to the dustbin, helping to back it up.
So now I said you got.
To pick it up, put it back up, switch it up, swap it out.
Pick it up, put it back to do that, sum it down, pick it up, put it back, set it up.
To back it up with that one, pick it up to make it out.
You get up in the back enough of a dominant double to back it up.
Yeah.
Pick it up out first.
Let's go.
Look, we made a mess, Tom, to pick things up.
Bad habits, Tom to switch things up.
It's so tragic.
Why are we still drinking water Bottles made of plastic?
Lisa, you can do is get you a refillable plastic ends up in the ocean, killing animals trash on the land.
It's not biodegradable, but I a habit start at home.
I do how you go clean of the earth.
You don't clean your room, pick it up, let it back, Switch it up and swap it out.
Huh?
Pick it up, Put it back it up.
Sum it up, Pick it up, Put it back it up.
Some of that.
Pick it up in the back of that ultimate down.
Pick it up in the back.
But now we get over the back of it now.
Yeah.
Pick it up with the back to the house.
Pick it up in the back in the dust without pick it up in the bag.
Say yeah.
Do you know where your trash goes to a landfill.
But we filled those.
Mm.
Zero waste is it.
No.
Go.
That's not enough.
If we just recycle.
Yeah.
Refuse.
If you don't need it.
I don't need the reuse.
Use it again.
Use it at key, and then if it breaks, try to repair it.
You can fix that.
If you finish it, you can save every gift.
Donate those old toys, shoes and sweaters.
One person's trash is somebody else's treasure this time to declutter.
Hold up.
Wait.
Don't throw it away.
Pass it on to another Pick up.
Put it back, spit it out, serve it out.
Pick it up, Put it back up.
Somebody pick it up.
Put it back to pick it up.
It eventually does come in now take it over the back of it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Pick it up with the back of the dust of it and pick it up.
Put it back to the dustbin.
Now pick it up in the back.
To sum it up first, I wish that I could wake up to a world with no pollution.
But let's be realistic.
Talk about solutions.
Here's a couple tips we can switch for Improve every one commits, we reduce the carbon footprint, turn the running water off when you don't need it.
Turn the lights off in the room.
When you leave town.
A car pool use public transportation, turn the screen off, go outside, enjoy nature, compose food scraps to fight the climate change shop and farmer's markets that support the local flavor.
Find a little garden, some small in Mesa.
When you see the address on the paper, bag it off, put it back, sweating it out.
Swap it out.
That's right.
Pick it up, put it back.
Fit up.
Somebody out.
Pick it up.
Put it back.
Sit up someone out?
