A new position in the Bethm area school district will p support the social and emotional health of studens and staff.
We know that kids are goino have, you know, even bigger challenges mental health, behavioral health challengs coming in.
The move comes as schools n to bring kids back to fulle in person learning this fa.
Tracy Turner is the newly appointed supervisor of Sol Emotional Health Services.
She will work with staff ad students K through 12 and l 22 of the district's schoos will have an opportunity to really hone in on how to h. And not only students but families, teachers sociali, work on their emotional regulation and ultimately e more successful in the Turner says she plans on ug restorative practices for e older grades and using a leadership program that hes elementary students identiy their feelings.
I think educators in generl continue to face severe efs in the classroom of what we seeing in regards to both trauma and equity and povey issues.
And this pandemic has just really exacerbated it.
All of those issues, Turner hopes to put practices in e that work within the currim in each school.
We've laid groundwork, bute wanted to be ready to realy support teachers to support kids.
She will officially take te supervisor position July 1t when she leaves her role as Thomas Jefferson Elementary School principal for PBS39 nine.
